She recommends adding face painting, balloon twisting, or other visual entertainment for your event if:

  • You’re hosting a small gathering and want to keep the kids entertained for several hours.
  • You’re planning a larger event and want a one-stop solution for all your entertainment needs.
  • You want a mix of Alexis’s magical performance for teens and adults, along with something fun for younger kids, like face painting or balloon twisting.

Face Painter & Balloon Twister CT Add-Ons for Kids Party Magicians

Can I add face painting and balloon twisting onto my magic package?

Yes! Alexis provides both, and because we have time minimums and travel fees, having one artist provide both is typically the best value.

Do all magicians have to come with an upgrade to ba face painter or balloon twister CT?

Not all magic packages have to come with art, no.

For example, if you’re a summer camp or company having a large event for a ton of kids, it may not make sense.

However, Alexis does have a 2 hour time minimum for her parties, so it often makes sense for her to do something else on top of the magic. (And it’s typically the same price as just a 30min magic show by itself because of that time minimum.)

What designs do face painting and balloon twisting come with?

Our designs range from popular characters (like princesses and heroes) to cool animals (from tigers to flamingos) and everything in between (from silly aliens to spooky monsters to beautiful butterflies).

Alexis typically has a 3-page menu of various designs, complete with photos for children who are too young to read to choose from.

What ages are face painting and balloon twisting suitable for? Can Alexis entertain both boys and girls?

Face painting and balloon twisting are fun for everyone!

Alexis creates designs that appeal to both kids and adults. Whether it’s a dad in his 50s looking for a KISS-inspired face paint or a toddler wanting a balloon magic wand, Alexis makes sure everyone has a great time.

What do I need to provide for face painting and balloon twisting?

For face painting, Alexis will need a table and two chairs. For balloon twisting, she just needs a table and one chair.

The tables can be any size but should be standard height, similar to a dining table or office desk. If your event is outdoors, make sure there’s shade or cover, like a tent or gazebo.

How many faces or balloons can Alexis do in an hour?

Typically, Alexis can complete around 10-12 designs per hour. She also offers “quick” designs if you have more guests. If your event is larger, Alexis can bring additional artists and offer different options depending on the size of your party.

How much does face painting and balloon twisting cost?

The cost will depend on the time, location, and number of guests at your event. Contact us for a quote, and Alexis will offer plenty of flexible options!

Henna Tattoo Add On

What are henna tattoos?

Henna “tattooing” is a temporary form of body art that resembles a tattoo, though its color typically ranges from shades of red, orange, brown, to burgundy.

This effect is created by taking a paste (made in-house by Alexis out of sugar, lemon juice, essential oils, and crushed henna leaf) and applying it onto the skin.

Henna tattoos will look like a crunchy paste at your party. At night, when guests flick off the paste into a garbage can, the paste will look either orange or light-brown on their skin (depending on their completion). The next day it will be the dark burgundy-brown that henna is known for and last up to a week.

Can I add henna tattoos to my magic package?

Yes! The Oasis strolling magic packages come with this option.

We don’t recommend henna for young children, but if you want a temporary tattoo option as well, we have options like glitter tattoos for as young as 3 or 4 years old.

What designs do henna tattoos come with?

Alexis has a two page menu of either full hand designs (as seen below) or simple one-fingers designs.

The size of designs you book is up to you, and for full hand designs she can accommodate around 8-10 guests per hour, and for smaller designs 15-25 guests per hour.

What ages is henna for?

Because henna has a messy drying process, we recommend henna for tweens, teens, and adults who know how to be careful.

If you want a temporary tattoo for younger ages, ask our office for quotes on options like glitter, airbrush, and flash tattoos.

Can henna be for both men and women?

Absolutely! Although henna tends to be more poplar with women at events, it’s something that men absolutely also enjoy.

How much does henna cost?

The cost will depend on the time, location, and number of guests at your event. Contact us for a quote, and Alexis will offer plenty of flexible options!

How To Book a Face Painter or Balloon Twister in CT, MA, RI, NH

If you want to add face painting and balloon twisting to your kids party magician package, then there are a few considerations:

  1. The Spark of Magic Kids Show is about 30min, but Alexis currently has a 2-hour engagement minimum The rest of the time in that 2-hour block (or longer if you’d like to add more fun) will be for the arts package you want to add on.
  2. For small birthday parties, this saves you money and increase the value of your experience with the magician.
  3. If you’re having a party with more than 20 children and want additional entertainment, you’ll also be given the option to add more time onto your package.

If you have any questions, ask our office at the time of booking.

Finally, Alexis will also need a few things:

  1. All magicians, face painters, and balloon twisters must be in a shaded or climate-controlled area while they work (after all, they’re humans too!).
  2. To ensure the kids can hear the magic show (and the magician can hear the kids), it’s important to set up your magician away from the DJ or any loud music.
  3. Face painters and balloon twisters will also need a table to work on. The balloon twister will require one chair, while the face painter will need two. If you have multiple artists at your event, they can easily share the same table without any issues!

An Interview with Jessica: Alexis’s Booking Agent

How did you become a professional magician’s agent?

I was a singer in wedding bands for years and learned how to book my own bands. In 2014 I began part-time at Kaleidoscope booking face painters and balloon twisters, and as our roster of talent expanded it became my full time job.

Do you have children? What do you do for their events?

I do! I have two young kids and for their birthdays I go for “less is more”. I hire only one entertainer to stay the whole length of the party so everyone who comes late can still participate, kids aren’t overwhelmed with stations and options, and I don’t have to follow up with multiple artists.

It’s not even a budget question–I just like a calm party with one entertainer to keep the kids busy so I can enjoy time with other adults.

What’s the one tip you have a non-professional party planner, like a parent booking a birthday party?

Read the pricing options I send you thoroughly and when you have a calm moment, not just while you’re running around with your phone. A lot of head ache and confusion is caused by incomplete communication with vendors–and I promise, vendors make your break your event!

Are there any events you DON’T recommend Alexis for?

I think her skills are really with very small children or adults. I think for more hyper late-elementary school kids I would recommend our magician Kenny or for more elegant events I’d say James or Marissa. We have a few different magicians here, and I really think everyone has their own niche.
